What I don’t say from the ambo: Thanks Misión en Acción for the missionary experience.

Today I sit in front of my keyboard to share a little bit of my experience in Nicaragua. For the last 10 days I was drafted as spiritual director of this group from Miami called “mission en accion”. They called me because the priest that usually goes with them couldn’t go this time. Oh, what a blessing for me!
We went to Nicaragua to help this congregation of Sisters missionaries of the divine face. They have a house with children’s that are orphans or abandoned by their parents. In one house they have 3 years up to 18 and in the “casa cuna” (the cradle house) they have new born to 2 years old. The conditions where this kids live Is not the best one, but I can tell that they receive a lot of love from this nuns; you can feel it when you cross the door and see all this kids running to you to give you a hug and a kiss…
But the house has a spaghetti strainer for ceiling. And the plumbing, Mision en accion repaired the plumbing so water can get easily to the house, but now they can get the water out of the house. They need help. La casa cuna receive infants that are orphans and also they have a daycare, the only problem is that parents leave they baby for a day and they return to pick the baby up 3 weeks or even months after the drop. The nuns are great and they give these kids a loving environment, hot because there is no a/c and only 1 fan under a zinc roof.
They have the lot to build a better facility, but they have no income to build the place…
It is sad, but it is also a joyful experience. I celebrated mass with these kids and they impressed me to the point of tears of joy. The way they respond during mass and their participation is incredible. They know that they parents abandoned them but they know that God never run away from them.
If you feel like to help them let me know, send me an e-mail and I will give you the contact info of mission en accion so you can help. So far they need to replace the roof (50,000.00) and new plumbing system (2,500.00)
And also please keep this sisters in your prayers, they are heroes in this world of selfishness.
Let’s keep praying for one an other
Fr. Hector
