Last Sunday I asked this question to the parishioners. Do we as Catholics know who really Jesus is? It looks like now a days we forgot the answer to this question, that’s why he reminded us in the Gospel : Who the people said that I am?
You know, here is the thing… if we really knew Jesus, we will be able to recognize His presence on the Eucharist, and we will have more respect for the church, the sacred, and all that good stuff. But the way we know Jesus, at least the way we think we know him, have become something that is not. We are so lax in our faith that we forget what he did for us.
Tell me something, if you really know Jesus, would you recognize his real presence in the Eucharist? And if you do recognize it… Then why we come dress to church the way we do, at least a lot of people do? Shorts, sandals, and clothe that is good for a field trip, not to meet our king. Plus … the cell phones… we don’t need them to talk to God, we complain all the time that God doesn’t hear us, but we are all the time stuck to that cell phone, that God always find your line busy.
Do you really care about someone that you love? If you do you will spend time whit that person to know she/he better. What about to spend some time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament? He wants you to know him better, he is dying to spend time with you… should we been doing the same for him?
You know what… If you know Jesus… Good for you, if you don’t I think it is time for you to develop a relationship with him, get close to him and you will see how well you would answer his question.
Let’s keep praying for each other
